Many Filipino laborers has new opportunities are to grab. The POEA (Philippine Overseas Employment Agency) opened the application for new OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers) who wants to work in South Korea. South Korea need at least 5,400 Filipino workers to work in electronic, chemical, textile, and food processing factories. ABS-CBN News reported that anyone who will be hired will have estimated 1,200 or P59,00 a month. POEA deputy administrator Jocelyn Sanchez that it has a chance to rise up to P90,000 depending on working hours.
"Pag masipag ka pa, aabutin ng P90,000. Ibig sabihin ko sa masipag, 'yung mga overtime," Sanchez said to ABS-CBN. The process was between the Philippine and South Korea government. Aspiring OFWs would be ensured of the employer who would hire them. There will be no placement fee by the employees.
The application process can be apply trough online by filling out permit system in POEA's website. After this, applicants will wait for the schedule of their skill test.
There is no job interview needed, applicants with higher score in skill test will be prioritized in hiring system. Higher score will get higher possibility to be hired. "Higher the score, mas priority ka I-hire. Sa pinag-aralan, kahit high school graduate. Sa experience, mabuti kung mahaba," Sanchez said.
When the applicant passes the skill test their name will be include in the list of applicants so the korean employers will pick their employees. Once picked, the employer and employee will have their own transaction regarding the processing of Visa and purchasing plane ticket. A newly hired employee doesn't need more than 30,000 for departure expenses.
