Here's why.
It can catch fire.
A teen in Texas woke up to a burning smell while he is sleeping. The reason is her Samsung Galaxy S4 that was under her pillow, it is partially melted and scorched the crawl to her sheets and mattress. The reason seems to be her non-Samsung replacement battery. The cell phone instruction manual warns that don't use any non-Samsung battery and chargers. The manual also says that the phone can catch fire if placed under a bedding or other thick material. The best thing to do is stick on your phone accessories and keep it away on your bed.
You could stay awake.
Cell phones along with other gadgets (TV, Tablets, and other with LED screens) give off what's called blue light. Studies suggest that it is a type that can inhibit the production of sleep-inducing hormone melatonin and mess with our circadian rhythms. Blue lights emit wavelengths just like daylight, which can mess with our body and think it's daytime. It is best to turn off all gadgets 2 hrs before bedtime to fall asleep faster.
The health risks of mobile phones are still not clear. There's still no research that proves mobile phones can cause cancer, and any other health risks are still unclear. Mobile phones give off such small doses of electromagnetic radiation that can lead to tumor growth if it is in high amount, which X-Rays and Microwaves emit too.
The World Health Organization warned in 2011 that if you use cellphone in long term of time this may be carcinogenic to humans, especially children who have thinner skulls than adults that is more vulnerable in vibrations, so if you're worried about the cancer risk, it is best to text than call and use earphones to stay your phone away from your face. And next time do not sleep with your phone again.
